TURF SERVICES

Before

After

In my first couple of years of trading I was repeatedly presented with newly laid lawns that were deteriorating rapidly. After some learning about turfing, it became very obvious that the cause of the deterioration was poor soil preparation and poor-quality turf. Essentially, the existing turf was being cut away to be replaced by the new turf, with no ground preparation.

WE DO IT PROPERLY!

Preparation is key

Soil compaction is always a factor in the deterioration of the surface sward and when we turf, the soil is always aerated/rotovated in order to relieve the compaction and if necessary, amended with organic material or sand, as required.

Once the soil is adequately aerated it is then crucial to ensure the surface is levelled and there are no surface air pockets which results in a ‘bumpy’ lawn. The only way to prevent this is to ‘heel-toe’. This is very hard work and time consuming but we do it no matter how big the lawn.

There are varying qualities of turf and poor-quality turf will be very obvious and you will resent the money you spent every time you look at it. We always use premium turf and we always use the turf mix best suited to the lawns soil and aspect.
